75 Pontiac 400 Alternator

Postby d2hogman » Thu Dec 17, 2009 6:57 pm

Hey all. Looking for some help. I have a 75 Pontiac 400 that I just picked up. Of course it didn't come with any accessories so I need to find a alternator that fits the factory bracket. The alternator that all of the parts stores say is the correct one is to narrow to fit the bracket. The one they are telling me is the correct part number is about 5 1/4" from hole to hole. I need spacing at 7 1/4". Am I missing something.

you should have a , about 4" spacer that go's between the alt. and the power steering bracket. stack washers in there until you find one.
